I knew it would happen!

Okay, so, it finally happened. Spring arrived!! I know I said I wasn't complaining but it was starting to get a little bit ridiculous! I've been able to wear short pants and sandals to work and I haven't seen a coat all week! We even had our first thunderstorm the other night. Glorious!

Now I need to figure out what to do with my lawn, how to move the big rock the school bus hit in my front yard and who to get to build me new steps at the front and a small deck at the back. My gate finally closes now that the ground isn't frozen but the post didn't go back inot the ground and now it won't latch. Just another thing to fix!

Owning a home is great and I'm glad I bought when I did...even if I still need to call Dad to get things around here fixed!

Joined facebook today but it has me totally confused. I think I'll need to get my pictures from Mom's computer but it seems like a great way to keep in touch with people I haven't seen in ages!

Still Waiting

...yup...still waiting for spring - snowed all day today...again.

Spring...where are you??

(not complaining - just stating fact and asking a question!)

More snow

I'm really looking forward to spring...oh wait...it is spring. At least, that's what the calendar says. We've had snow for 7 months now...and it looks like a few more cm's overnight tonight and probably a few more before the week is through. I think I forget what grass looks like...

Longest Winter Ever!

Okay, I'm not a meteorologist but I'm going on record by saying that this is officially the longest winter ever. I woke up this morning to snow. And not like a skiff...a definite dusting. It's even starting to stick to the roads...I love winter and I love living in Alberta so yes, winter is to be expected but I love the changing of the seasons and I'm completely ready for spring! I even had my sandals on yesterday...looks like socks and real shoes again!

This is not a complaint - rather, a statement of facts!

A Complaint Free World

Seems to me that I've been doing a lot of complaining this week. I'm hoping that by getting my thoughts out on this blog I won't be quite as inclined to vent to everyone I see in my day. I truly believe that your actions move to support your thoughts and if you're consistently thinking of the negative things in your life, your energies and actions will support those negative thoughts.

Of course, if that is true, then the reverse must be true as well. If you think positively, your energies and actions will support the positive thoughts. But, I'm nowhere near perfect so I do more than my fair share of complaining!

I briefly caught a bit of Oprah the other day and she had a minister from the States on who has started a movement called "A Complaint Free World". The premise is to challenge yourself to go 21 days without complaining in order bring focus to the positive things in your life. His church is offering free rubber bracelets to anyone who wants them. Right now I don't think I'll be able to go 21 days without complaining but I figure I could start with 21 minutes! Visit acomplaintfreeworld.org for more information.
